The system monitors changes in the state of door locks, hood, and interior volume (except soft top models), ignition switch and its own electrical circuits.
Attention! The anti-theft alarm can only be activated using the remote control.
Note: If the remote control fails, the doors can be opened with a key. In this case, the anti-theft alarm will be triggered; to turn it off, you must turn the ignition key to the "ACC" or "ON" position.
Built-in self-diagnosis system of anti-theft alarm
After switching on, the system performs a short self-diagnosis lasting about 10 seconds.
If a malfunction is detected, the control LED of the ultrasonic interior volume scanning sensor will flash within the first ten seconds - contact your Opel dealer or service center for advice.
Anti-theft alarm control LED
On 5-door models and 3-door Hardtop models (with a hard roof) the control LED is mounted in an ultrasonic sensor attached to the ceiling trim on the passenger side of the cabin (see fig. 2.5).
Continuous lighting of the LED during the first 10 seconds accompanies the power-on delay mode during self-diagnostics. Flashing of the LED for the first 10 seconds indicates that not all doors are closed or signals a system failure.
Flashing of the LED 10 seconds after system initiation confirms that the system is functioning properly. Otherwise, the system will operate without scanning the interior volume of the vehicle.
The LED turns on for about 1 second to confirm that the system is deactivated.
Enabling ultrasonic scanning of the interior volume of the car (5-door models and 3-door hardtop models)
1. Close the windows, the top hatch (if provided), doors (including tailgate) and the hood.
2. Turn on the anti-theft alarm.
The ultrasonic sensor control LED lights up for approximately 10 seconds after the system is turned on - the ultrasonic scanning of the interior has not been activated. The LED will flash until the alarm is turned off.
Activation of the anti-theft alarm without turning on the ultrasonic scanning of the interior volume of the passenger compartment
1. Close the top hatch (if provided), all doors (including tailgate), except for the driver's side and the hood.
2. Press the button on the ultrasonic sensor on the driver's side of the vehicle. The LED will flash for about 10 seconds.
3. Close the driver's door.
4. Turn on the anti-theft alarm.
The LED should light up for about 10 seconds - now the system is activated in the mode of operation without ultrasonic scanning of the interior, where in this case a child or pet may be left.

Opening and closing the tailgate with the anti-theft alarm system on
1. Unlock the lock and open the tailgate.
2. Close the door and lock the door.
3. Ultrasonic scanning of the interior will resume after approximately 10 seconds.
If the tailgate lock is not locked, the alarm will be activated 10 seconds after the door is opened again.
Acoustic and sound signals of the anti-theft system
Ultrasonic sensors can trigger an alarm no more than three times, other sensors trigger an alarm every time there is a change in the corresponding devices.
When triggered, the system emits a sound signal from the horn siren for 30 seconds and also for 5 minutes (or another time interval, depending on the requirements of regional authorities) turns on the hazard warning lights.
The alarm can be switched off by pressing the button (2) on the remote control (see fig. 2.2 above), or by turning the ignition key to the "ACC" or "ON" position.
