Attention! The anti-theft alarm can only be initiated using the remote control.
Note. If the remote control fails, the doors can be opened with the key. In this case, an anti-theft alarm will be triggered, to turn it off, turn the ignition key to the position "ACC" or "ON".
Built-in anti-theft alarm self-diagnosis system
After switching on, the system performs a short self-diagnosis lasting about 10 seconds.
If a malfunction is detected, the control LED of the ultrasonic sensor for scanning the internal volume of the passenger compartment flashes within the first ten seconds - contact your Opel dealership or service center for advice.
Anti-theft alarm control LED
On 5-door models and 3-door hardtop models (hardtop) the control LED is mounted in an ultrasonic sensor attached to the headlining on the passenger side of the passenger compartment (see illus. 2.5).
The continuous lighting of the LED during the first 10 seconds accompanies the power-on delay mode for the duration of the self-diagnosis. Flashing the LED for the first 10 seconds indicates that not all doors are closed, or signals a system failure.
The flashing of the LED 10 seconds after the system has been initiated confirms that the system is functioning correctly. Otherwise, the system will work without scanning the interior volume of the cabin.
Turning on the LED for about 1 second confirms the deactivation of the system.
Enabling ultrasonic scanning of the interior of the car (5-door models and 3-door hardtop models)
1. Close windows, top hatch (if provided), doors (including tailgate) and hood.
2. Turn on the anti-theft alarm.
The control LED of the ultrasonic sensor lights up for approximately 10 seconds after the system is turned on - the activation of the ultrasonic scanning of the passenger compartment has not occurred. The LED will flash until the alarm goes off.
Activation of the anti-theft alarm without turning on the ultrasonic scanning of the interior volume of the passenger compartment
1. Close the top hatch (if provided), all doors (including tailgate), except for the driver's and hood.
2. Press the button on the ultrasonic sensor on the driver's side of the vehicle. The LED will flash for about 10 seconds.
3. Close the driver's door.
4. Turn on the anti-theft alarm.
The LED should light up for about 10 seconds - the system is now activated in the operating mode without ultrasound scanning of the sebaceous area, where in this case a child or a pet can be left).
Opening and closing the tailgate when the anti-theft alarm is on
1. Unlock the lock and open the tailgate.
2. Close the door and lock the lock.
3. The interior ultrasound will resume after about 10 seconds.
If the tailgate lock is not locked, the alarm will sound 10 seconds after the tailgate is opened again.
Acoustic and sound signals of the anti-theft system
Ultrasonic sensors can trigger an alarm no more than three times; other sensors trigger an alarm every time there is a change in the corresponding devices.
When triggered, the system emits a horn siren for 30 seconds and in addition for 5 minutes (or another time interval, depending on the requirements of regional authorities) turns on the hazard warning lights.
The alarm can be turned off by pressing the button (2) on the remote control (see illus. 2.2 above), or by turning the ignition key to position "ACC" or "ON".
