Replacing the gear shift cable system (AF13-II) (Opel Corsa C)

Remove the center console.

Set cable channel 1 aside.

Unfasten the cable channel.

Press the gear shift cable 3 away from the control lever.

Press the gear shift cable 3 away from the control lever.


Release the gear shift cable from the holder.

Pry up the locking clip 2 with a screwdriver.

Press (arrow) the gear shift cable away from the control lever on the gear shift lever position switch.

Release the gear shift cable from the stop.

Pry up the retaining clip 1 with a screwdriver.

Pry up the retaining clip 1 with a screwdriver.


Pull the gear shift cable 3 away from the rubber seal 4 on the end panel.

Note: Be careful not to let the rubber seal come off the end panel.


Insert the gear shift cable 1 through the end panel from below and route it as required.

Wet the rubber seal 2 of the gear shift cable with soapy water.



Insert the gear shift cable into the stop and secure it in place.

Slide the locking clip in.

Note: Make sure it is fixed correctly.

Press (arrow) the gear shift cable onto the gear shift lever position switch control lever.

Press the gear shift cable 2 onto the gear shift lever 3.

Insert the gear shift cable 2 into the holder in the interior of the vehicle.

Secure with locking clip 1.

Secure cable channel 4.

Secure cable channel 4.


Secure cable channel 4.


Install the middle console.



Adjust the gear shift cable system.

Check the safety functions of the gear shift lever.
