Compression pressure test (Z10XE, Z10XEP, with air conditioning) (Opel Corsa C)

Note: The engine must be warm (oil temperature min. 80°C).


Verification procedure



Open the hood.

Remove the ignition module.

Remove the ignition module cover and slide it to the right.

Disconnect the wiring harness connector.

Unscrew the 2 mounting bolts.

Remove the cover using the KM-6009 1 tool.

Note: Do not tilt the lid.


Remove the spark plugs.

Remove 3 spark plugs using the KM-194-E tool.

Remove the fuel pump relay.

Remove the fuse box cover.

Remove the fuse box cover.


Remove the fuel pump relay (arrow).

Check the compression pressure.

Note: This procedure requires two people.


Press the accelerator pedal.

Maintain the full load position.

Start the engine (approximately 4 sec).

Note: The engine speed must be at least 300 min⁻¹.


Compare the compression pressure values.

Maximum pressure difference 100 kPa (1 bar).

Maximum pressure difference 100 kPa (1 bar).


Install the fuel pump relay.



Replace the fuse box cover.

Install the spark plugs.

Using KM-194-E, tighten 3 spark plugs to 25 Nm.

Install the ignition module.

Tighten the 2 mounting bolts to 8 Nm.

Connect the wire harness connector.

Install the ignition module cover.

Close the hood.
