2. Remove the air supply hose to the driver's foot well (see Chapter 11).
3. If equipped, remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) sensor and disconnect the wiring harness retaining bracket (see accompanying illustration) On models equipped with ESP, also disconnect the system's electrical wiring connector.
5.3. Removing the clutch pedal: 1. Clutch master cylinder rod retainer; 2. Electrical wiring mounting bracket; 3. EGR system sensor; 4. Fastening nuts; 5. ESP wiring connector; 6. Device MKM-6170; 7. Device MKM-6202
4. Disconnect the return spring from the clutch pedal and unlock the clutch master cylinder rod by installing the KM-6170 tool into the recesses on the pedal, insert the MKM-6202 tool into the hole on the KM-6170 tool, and squeeze the rod lock tabs (see illustration 5.3) and pull the clutch pedal towards you.
Caution: Do not remove the retainer from the rod! 5 Loosen the clutch pedal bracket support mounting nuts (see illustration 5.3).
6. Remove the windshield wiper motor (see Chapter 12).

7. Remove the mounting bolt on the engine compartment bulkhead (see accompanying illustration) and remove the clutch pedal bracket support.
5.7. Fastening the clutch pedal bracket: 1. Bracket support mounting bolt; 2. Bracket mounting nuts; 3. Clutch master cylinder mounting nuts
8. First loosen the 2 clutch master cylinder mounting nuts, then loosen the 3 clutch pedal bracket mounting nuts on the engine compartment bulkhead (see illustration 5.7) and remove the bracket together with the pedal.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
