Removal and installation the high-level brake light bulb (Opel Astra H)

Note: The high-level brake light is made using LEDs. Individual LEDs cannot be replaced; the entire assembly must be replaced if necessary.


Hatchback models



1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery (see Chapter 5).

2. Remove the tailgate trim (see Chapter 11).

3. Press the 6 clips and separate the high-level brake light from the tailgate. Disconnect the wiring connector, separate the rear window washer hose (see accompanying illustration) and remove the brake light.

4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Astra GTC Models



5. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery (see Chapter 5).

6. Remove the rear window frame trim (see Chapter 11, Section 15).

7. Separate the high level brake light from the 3 guides and remove the brake light from the tailgate assembly.

8. Disconnect the rear window washer hose, release the brake light wiring cables from the holder, disconnect the wiring connector and remove the brake light assembly.

9. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. The upper level brake light assembly should be installed on the tailgate first with the right side - check the reliability of the assembly fastening. Pay attention to the wiring.

10. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery (see Chapter 5).

11. Remove the rear window frame trim (see Chapter 11, Section 15).

12. Release the high level brake light from the three holders (see accompanying illustration), disconnect the wiring connector and remove the brake light from the tailgate.
