Replacing interior lighting bulbs (Opel Astra H)

1. Before starting work, set the rotary switch for the outdoor lighting modes to the "0" position (see Chapter "Controls and operating techniques", Section 17) and turn off the ignition. Disconnect the battery (see Chapter 5).

Note: All lamps are installed in reverse order. After installation, check the correct operation of the replaced lamps.

2. Using a screwdriver, pry up the light on the left (in the direction of travel) sides, press the lamp and remove it from the socket.

3. Press the retainer spring and open the metal protective cover on the back of the lamp (see accompanying illustration). Disconnect the wiring connector and replace the faulty lamp.

4. Using a plastic wedge, remove the light from the mounting socket (see accompanying illustration). Disconnect the electrical wiring connector from the back of the lamp.

5. Turn the chuck (see illustration 23.4) the lamp to be replaced counterclockwise and remove it together with the lamp.



6. Remove the faulty lamp from the socket and replace it with a new one.
