1. Open the tailgate, remove the luggage compartment shelf and unscrew the shelf cable fastening elements from the window frame trim.

2. Insert a plastic wedge under the window frame trim, press the 4 fasteners and separate the trim from the window frame (see accompanying illustration) first on one side, then on the other.

3. Remove the tailgate lock trim (see accompanying illustration), for which remove the retainer and unscrew the mounting bolt in the door handle opening.

4. Insert a plastic wedge or lever under the trim, release the 8 fasteners one by one and remove the door trim.



5. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Replace all damaged fasteners with new ones.

Note: On Astra GTC models, the window frame trim is secured with three clips and the tailgate lock trim is secured with one expansion rivet and three clips in the door handle opening.

6. Insert a plastic wedge under the window frame trim, press the 4 fasteners and detach the trim.

7. Remove the expansion rivet and detach the tailgate lock trim (see accompanying illustration), remove 2 expansion rivets and unscrew 2 mounting bolts, insert a plastic wedge or lever under the trim, remove 12 fasteners one by one and remove the door trim.

8. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Replace all damaged fasteners with new ones.

9. Remove the 3 mounting bolts (arrows A) (see accompanying illustration), release the door lock cover from the door handle opening and remove the cover.

10. Remove 2 mounting bolts (arrows B) (see illustration 15.9), insert a plastic wedge or lever under the trim, remove the 10 fasteners one by one and remove the lower door trim.



11. Use the same technique to release the window frame trim (see illustration 15.9) from 4 fasteners and remove it.

12. Loosen the mounting bolts one by one (see accompanying illustration) and using a plastic wedge, remove the side trim first from one side and then from the other side of the window frame.
