2. Remove the front bumper cover (see Section 7).
3. When removing the right wing on gasoline models, loosen the fastening nut, disconnect the EVAP system charcoal canister, and move it to the side.
4. Remove the wing insulation (see accompanying illustration).

5. If the wing is removed for the purpose of subsequent replacement, it is necessary to remove the side guide from it (see accompanying illustration), for which drill out the heads of three rivets and knock the rivets out of the mounting holes.

6. Using a plastic wedge type HAZET 1965-20, detach the wing trim from the windshield frame, then remove the adhesive tape from the frame (see accompanying illustration).

7. Seal the edges of the wing with tape.
8. Open the front door, unscrew the 8 mounting bolts (see accompanying illustration) and remove the wing.

Note: When replacing a wing, remove the headlight mounting clamp nut, hood seal and wing trim from the old one and install them on the new one.
9. When installing the wing, stick a new 5 cm long double-sided adhesive tape to the wing trim. Place the trim under the windshield seal and stick it to the windshield frame.
10. Cover with a special varnish those surfaces of the new wing that will be inaccessible after installation.
11. Clean the mating surfaces of the wing and align them if necessary.
12. Install the wing and set a uniform gap between adjacent body elements.
13. Fasten the wing to the trim, screw in the bolts and tighten them to the required force (see Specifications).
14. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Features of Zafira models
15. In general, the procedure for removing/installing the front wing is the same as on Astra models. Only the differences are listed below.
16. Remove the fixed glass of the A-pillar (front pillar) (see Section 11).
17. Carefully cut the adhesive joint between the wing and the A-pillar at the top of the glass frame by heating a knife or spatula and inserting the tool into the gap from above.
18. Cut the adhesive layer between the wing holder and the A-pillar under the fixed glass by inserting a wire (see accompanying illustration) through the gap so as to outline the gluing area and bring the ends of the wire out of the hole for installing the side turn signal repeater, without pinching the wire between the holder and the A-pillar. Pre-seal the edges of the hole for installing the repeater with tape. When cutting the adhesive layer, the assistant should heat it with a hair dryer.

19. Remove 9 mounting bolts (see accompanying illustration), heat the sealing compound at the bottom of the A-pillar with a hair dryer and carefully separate the wing.

20. When installing a new wing, first secure it with bolts, mark the gluing points, then remove it again. Apply glue to the holder and to the A-pillar at the top of the window frame.
21. Install the wing and set a uniform gap between the adjacent body elements.
