Removal and installation side door locks (Opel Astra H)

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5).

2. Remove the door trim (see Section 21).

3. On the front door, remove the 2 fasteners at the rear of the door frame (see illustration 23.3).

4. Remove the insulating film at the back, disconnect the lock wiring connector.

5. Move the locking bracket up and disconnect the door lock rod from the support (see accompanying illustration).

6. Remove the 3 mounting bolts on the rear end wall of the door and separate the lock from the door frame.

7. On the front door, disconnect the door lock cylinder rod.

8. Remove the lock from the frame.

9 Release the flexible rod from the door lock holder (see accompanying illustration) and disconnect the rod core from the locking button pivot arm.



10. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Do not forget to replace the insulating film. Without slamming the door, check the operation of the locking mechanism.
