Removal and installation the rear door mechanical window lifter (Opel Astra H)

1. Lower the glass of the corresponding door.

2. Remove the door trim (see Section 21).

3. Remove the window handle seal from the door assembly. Carefully remove the insulating film.

4. Using a plastic wedge, pry up the lower inner glass seal and carefully remove it starting from the back. Proceed in the same manner to remove the outer glass seal.

5. Remove the rear guide seal, unscrew the 2 lower mounting bolts (see accompanying illustration).

Note: On Astra models - only 1 bolt.

6. Remove the upper mounting bolt (see illustration 24.5) and remove the rear guide from the door assembly. Then remove the fixed rear door glass.

7. Tilt the glass forward and separate it from the window regulator guide by pulling it rearward. Remove the glass from the door assembly.

8. Drill out the heads of six rivets (see accompanying illustration) and knock out the rivets. Remove the window regulator from the door assembly. Remove metal filings from all door assembly components.



9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. When installing, use rivets with a diameter of 4.8x11 mm or replace them with suitable short bolts with nuts, the threads of the bolts must be lubricated with a fixing compound. The window regulator guides must be lubricated with a universal grease. Replace the damaged insulating film.
