Attention! Maintenance of the injection system is carried out in a car service. It is independently allowed to change the sensors and devices of the injection system.
Multitec S system
Fuel distributor and injectors
1. Decompress the fuel system. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Remove the upper engine cover by unscrewing the screws and removing the oil filler plug.
3. Disconnect from a throttle branch pipe and the air filter an air line. On Zafita models, this will require removal of the engine compartment seal, deflector panels under the windshield and the cover above the bulkhead of the engine compartment (see above).
4. Disconnect from a cover of a head of cylinders a ventilating hose.
5. Label and disconnect all wires in the plastic tray that runs over the fuel distributor, including the ground connection (see photo).
6. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator on the left side of the fuel distributor.
7. Disconnect the fuel lines from the pressure regulator (see photo).
8. Remove 2 bolts and remove the fuel distributor with injectors and wire tray (see photo).
9. Get from the distributor of fuel of atomizer, having removed spring brackets.
10. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Replace injector o-rings.
Fuel pressure control
11. Remove the upper engine cover by unscrewing the screws and removing the oil filler plug.
12. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator on the left side of the fuel distributor.
13. Turn away screws and remove a collar of a regulator of pressure (see photo). Remove the pressure regulator from the fuel distributor.
14. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Replace regulator seal.
Electric drive of switching of idling
15. Remove the upper engine cover by unscrewing the screws and removing the oil filler plug.
16. Disconnect from a throttle branch pipe and the air filter an air line. On Zafira models, this will require removal of the engine compartment seal, deflector panels under the windshield and the cover above the bulkhead of the engine compartment (see above).
17. Remove the actuator by unplugging the connector and unscrewing the screws (see photo).
18. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, make sure that the protrusion of the plunger relative to the split plane of the actuator does not exceed 33 mm. If necessary, gently push the plunger into the actuator housing.
Throttle Angle Sensor
19. Remove the upper engine cover by unscrewing the screws and removing the oil filler plug.
20. Disconnect from a throttle branch pipe and the air filter an air line. On Zafira models, this will require removal of the engine compartment seal, deflector panels under the windshield and the cover above the bulkhead of the engine compartment (see above).
21. Disconnect the connector from the sensor, unscrew the screws and remove the sensor (see photo).
22. When assembling, install the sensor on the throttle shaft, engaging with splines (see photo). Screw the sensor screws on the fixing compound.
intake air temperature sensor
23. The sensor is inserted on the seal in the air duct between the air filter and the intake manifold. Turn off the ignition, disconnect the connector, pry and remove the sensor. Check the condition of the seal; if cracks or tears are found, replace the seal.
Intake manifold pressure sensor (MAP sensor)
24. The sensor is mounted with a bracket on the bulkhead of the engine compartment, to the left of the throttle pipe. Disconnect the connector and vacuum hose from the sensor, remove the bracket and remove the sensor.
crank angle sensor
25. The sensor is mounted in the front of the cylinder block, on the side of the bulkhead of the engine compartment. Access to the sensor is provided from below.
26. Disconnect the sensor connector from the harness, remove the sensor wire from the brackets.
27. Turn away a bolt and remove the gauge (see photo).
28. When assembling, check the gap between the end of the sensor and the tooth on the crankshaft pulley, which should be 1.0±0.7 mm. If the gap is not correct, replace the sensor bracket.
Camshaft Angle Sensor
29. Remove the camshaft belt top cover. Remove the sensor wires from the brackets and straps. Disconnect the sensor wiring connector from the harness.
30. Turn away bolts and remove the gauge from a head of cylinders.
Knock sensor
31. The sensor is bolted to the cylinder block with a starter. Remove the sensor wire from the brackets and straps. Disconnect the sensor wiring connector from the harness. Loosen the bolt and remove the sensor.
Processor engine block
32. Disconnect the battery from the ground. Remove the upper engine cover by unscrewing the screws and removing the oil filler plug.
33. Disconnect the connector from the block, remove the brackets, unscrew the 3 bolts and remove the block..
Attention! The processor unit of the engine is changed in a car service, as it needs to be recoded.
Fuel pump relay
34. The relay is located in the mounting block, which is mounted in the engine compartment.
35. Turn off the ignition, remove the cover of the mounting block and remove the relay (magenta relay housing).
Simtec 70 injection system
Fuel distributor and injectors
36. Remove the upper engine cover by unscrewing the screws and removing the oil filler plug.
37. Decompress the fuel system. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
38. Disconnect the connector from the film air flow meter.
39. Disconnect from a throttle branch pipe and the air filter an air line. On Zafira models, this will require removal of the engine compartment seal, deflector panels under the windshield and the cover above the bulkhead of the engine compartment (see above).
40. Disconnect a ventilating hose from a cover of a head of cylinders and a throttle branch pipe.
41. Disconnect the connectors that are attached to the wiring box. Remove the wire clamps on the box.
42. Turn away bolts of connections of a box on weight in the right part of an inlet collector and connection on weight of the processor block in the left part of a collector. Loosen the box mounting bolt (see photo).
43. The further procedure for removing the injectors and fuel distributor is illustrated in the photo.
44. Remove the injectors from the fuel distributor by removing the brackets
45. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Replace injector o-rings. Make sure the box connectors are securely connected to the injector connectors (see photographer)
Fuel pressure control
46. On the 1.8 liter engine, the fuel pressure regulator is mounted on the fuel pump cover. Remove the fuel pump cover (see above), disconnect the fuel lines and wires from the regulator and remove the regulator (see photo). On 2.0L engines, remove the engine cover, decompress the fuel system, and disconnect the battery from the ground. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator. Loosen the screws and remove the pressure regulator clamp (see photo). Remove the pressure regulator from the fuel distributor along with the o-rings.
Throttle controller (only 1.8L engines)
47. The throttle valve controller is an actuator combined with a throttle angle sensor. The regulator is built into the throttle body. If the regulator is defective, the throttle tube must be replaced.
idle speed controller (only 2.0L engines)
48. Disconnect the connector from the film air flow meter. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head, release the clamps and disconnect the air duct with the air flow meter from the throttle pipe and the air filter. On Zafira models, this will require removal of the engine compartment seal, deflector panels under the windshield and the cover above the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
49. Disconnect the connector from the regulator, unscrew 2 screws and remove the regulator from the throttle pipe (see photo).
Throttle Angle Sensor (2.0 l)
50. Remove the throttle pipe, unscrew the 2 screws and remove the sensor.
Manifold Inlet Air Temperature Sensor
51. Air temperature sensor built into the film air flow meter (see below).
Film Air Meter
52. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire from the meter (see photo).
53. Release the clamps and disconnect the air duct with the air flow meter from the throttle pipe and the air filter. On Zafira models, this will require removal of the engine compartment seal, deflector panels under the windshield and the cover above the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
54. The sensor is mounted in the front of the cylinder block, on the side of the partition of the engine compartment. Access to the sensor is provided from below.
55. Disconnect the sensor connector from the harness, remove the sensor wire from the brackets.
56. Remove the bolt and remove the sensor (see photo).
crank angle sensor (2.0 l)
57. Remove the air filter.
58. Turn away a bolt and remove a branch pipe of an oil indicator.
crank angle sensor (1.8 l)
59. Disconnect the sensor connector from the harness, remove the sensor wire from the brackets.
60. Turn away the screw and get the gauge from the block of cylinders.
Camshaft Angle Sensor
61. On 1.8L models, remove the engine cover. On 2.0L models, remove the spark plug guard by removing the screws.
62. Remove the camshaft belt top cover. Disconnect the connector from the sensor.
Knock sensor
63. The sensor is mounted at the rear of the cylinder block. Access to the sensor is provided from below.
64. On 2.0L models, remove the starter.
65. Disconnect the sensor connector from the harness, remove the sensor wire from the brackets.
66. Remove the bolt (see photo) and remove the sensor.
Processor engine block
67. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
68. On 1.8 liter models, the processor unit is bolted to the left side of the intake manifold, on 2.0 liter models, the processor unit is mounted next to the starter.
69. Disconnect the connector from the block. On 1.8L models, remove the knock sensor wires from the bracket on the frame of the processor unit, but do not disconnect.
70. Turn off 3 bolts and remove the block (see photo). The lower bolt simultaneously fastens the connector bracket.
