Throttle cable — removal, installation and adjustment (Opel Astra G)

1. Remove the cotter pin and disconnect the cable from the throttle lever (see photo).

2. Release the cable sheath from the bracket without loosening the adjusting clamp (see photo). Release the cable from the clamps along its entire route. On models with automatic transmission, disconnect the wires from the cruise control switch mounted in the cable.

3. Remove the lower section of the front passenger compartment trim on the driver's side by unscrewing the screws.

4. Disconnect the cable from the pedal by pulling the end seal and pushing it upwards (see photo).

5. In the engine compartment, remove the cable seal from the bulkhead. Remove the cable.



6. Check the condition of the cable end seal (see photo). Replace the damaged tip.

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

8. Remove the clip from the cable end on the throttle body side.

9. Make sure the throttle lever cam is against the stop and gently pull the cable out of the seal until all slack is removed.

10. While holding the cable in this position, secure the housing with a spring clip by inserting the clip into the last open groove on the end of the cable housing. Make sure that when you press the pedal, the throttle valve opens fully and the cable moves without binding.
