Description of engines (Opel Astra G)

            0

Some of the vehicles in question are equipped with 4-cylinder overhead valve engines with two camshafts and in-line cylinder arrangement. Transverse engines, with. The transmission is mounted on the left side of the engine. The cylinder block is cast from an aluminum alloy, the cylinders are sleeved, the cylinder liners are dry (i.e. they do not come into contact with the coolant). The crankshaft has 5 bearings. The axial play of the crankshaft is adjusted by selecting thrust half rings installed next to the 3rd main bearing. The connecting rod bearings consist of two liners inserted into the connecting rod and into the connecting rod cap. The connecting rods are connected to the pistons using pins that move freely in the connecting rod head and are installed with tension in the pistons. The camshaft supports are beds made in the cylinder head. Automatic valve adjustment is provided by hydraulic tappets. The oil pump is mounted in the front part of the engine. The coolant pump is driven by a toothed belt of the camshaft.
