Engines 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 l
1. Disconnect the battery from ground.
2. Remove the upper camshaft belt cover (see below).
3. Turn the crankshaft clockwise by the pulley bolt head (if you look from the right side of the car) until the marks on the camshaft sprockets are aligned (see photo), while the notch on the crankshaft pulley crown should align with the indicator on the lower belt cover (see photo).


2.0L Engines
4. Disconnect the battery from ground.
5. Remove the outer camshaft belt cover (see below).
6. Turn the crankshaft clockwise by the pulley bolt head (if you look from the right side of the car) so that the marks on the camshaft sprockets are facing upwards and are opposite the corresponding indicators on the rear cover of the camshaft belt, while the recess on the crown of the crankshaft pulley should be aligned with the indicator on the belt cover (see photo).
