Models F13, F17 and F18
To perform this procedure, you will need a drill or punch with a diameter of 5 mm.
Adjustment of the switching actuator is not a routine vehicle maintenance procedure and the need for it arises only after the removal of the switching mechanism. If the gear shifting is not clear, the correct functioning of the drive can be checked, if necessary, appropriate adjustments are made.
Adjustment is carried out by means of a bolt of a collar of fastening of a rod of a choice of transfers to draught of switching (see Removal and installation of the mechanism of a gear change). The bolt is located under the power unit, directly in front of the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment. On most models, access to the screw is possible from above, otherwise you should jack up the front of the car and install it on props - access to the bolt from below is very limited.
1. Relax (but don't give it all away) bolt of a fastening collar of a rod of a choice of transfers.
2. In the car, release from the latches and wrap up the protective cover of the gear lever. Fix the lever with a drill / punch with a diameter of 5 mm, threaded into the clamp on the left of the base of the lever and tucked into a special fixing hole.
3. With the shift mechanism in the neutral gear position, turn the selector shaft against spring resistance and lock the mechanism in this position by sinking the spring-loaded locking pin into the cover located on top of the transmission housing.
4. Check that the lever and shift mechanism are securely locked, tighten the selector rod clamp bolt to stage 1 torque, then tighten it to the stage 2 angle (see Specifications).
5. Remove the drill/drill fixing it from the shift lever and check the operation of the shift mechanism - the spring-loaded locking pin will automatically release when the lever is moved to the reverse gear position.
6. Make sure the locking pin pops out of the cover, then (if raised) lower the car to the ground.
Models F23
1. Remove the center console cover and shift lever cover (see chapter Body).
2. Using a small screwdriver, pry carefully and release both drive cable latches.
3. In the engine compartment, move the selection lever to the neutral gear position and lock it in this position by pushing the lock.
4. Pushing back, lock the latches on both cables.
5. Pull out the lever fastening clamp and reinstall the lever cover and center console cover (see chapter Body), then check the operation of the shift mechanism.
