Drive shaft seals
1. Chock the rear wheels, apply the parking brake, then jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on jack stands. Remove the corresponding front wheel.
2. Drain gear oil (see chapter Current service).
3. Remove the drive shaft (see chapter Clutch and drive shafts).
4. Using a large screwdriver, carefully pry the oil seal out of the differential housing.
5. Thoroughly clean the walls of the seat in the differential case. Lubricate the outer lip of the new oil seal with gear oil. With a suitable cylindrical mandrel against the hard outer edge of the oil seal, gently press it with the sealing lips inward flush with the surface of the differential housing.
6. Reinstall the drive shaft (see chapter Clutch and drive shafts), - take care not to damage the oil seal.
7. If drained, fill in the manual transmission with the required amount of fresh gear oil of the appropriate quality (see chapter Current service). If the oil does not drain, correct its level (see chapter Current service).
Input shaft oil seal
The stuffing box is built into the working cylinder and, if necessary, is replaced as an assembly with it. Before you come to the final conviction that the stuffing box is failing, make sure that it is he who has failed, and not the penny seal of the working cylinder in the gearbox crankcase, the seal can be replaced by removing the cylinder (see chapter Clutch and drive shafts).
Gear selector shaft seal
Replacement requires the removal and disassembly of the gear selector cover, and should be carried out by a car service specialist.
