Removal and installation the speed sensor (VSS) (Opel Astra G)

On some models, the engine ECM receives vehicle speed information from the ABS system - on these models, VSS is not installed.

Removal

VSS is inserted into the upper part of the manual transmission housing.

1. In the engine compartment, disconnect the electrical wiring from the sensor.

2. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the sensor.

Installation

1. After replacing the sealing ring, insert the sensor into its socket in the gearbox housing - make sure that the gear teeth are correctly engaged.

2. Screw in the mounting bolt and tighten it to the required torque. Restore the original wiring connection.
