1. Support the front wheels with wheel chocks, jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on jack stands. Remove rear wheels.
2. Remove the brake drums / discs (see chapter Brake system).
3. A plunger-type dial gauge is required to measure bearing play. Attach the gauge to the outer edge of the hub assembly flange.
4. When checking the end play, the plunger of the gauge is pressed against the surface of the hub in contact with the brake drum / disc (do not forget to reset the device). To determine the amount of radial play, the gauge is attached to the outer side of the hub, with a plunger to its center.
5. Slowly rotate the hub and record the meter readings. Compare measurement results with requirements Specifications, if necessary, replace the hub assembly (see Removal and installation of the rear hub assembly).
6. In conclusion, evaluate the degree of misalignment of the bearing axis, screw the metal lever to the hub with two wheel bolts. Install the indicator on the outer surface of the hub. Swinging the hub with a lever, measure the misalignment of the bearing. If the measurement result it exceeds the limit value (see Specifications), replace hub assembly (see Removal and installation of the rear hub assembly).
7. Remove the gauge and reinstall the brake drum/disk (see chapter Brake system).
8. Install the rear wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground. Tighten the wheel bolts to the required torque.
