Replacement of rubber-metal hinges should be done in pairs.
Removal
1. Remove the torsion beam (see Removal and installation the rear suspension torsion beam).
2. Before removing the hinges, use a chisel to knock out the spacers from the inner surfaces of the levers.
3. It is best to dismantle the rubber-metal hinges using a special Opel tool, although it is no less effective to use a long bolt with a nut, washer and a piece of pipe or a replaceable socket head of a suitable diameter. Try to remember the installation positions of the hinges before pressing them out of the levers.
Installation
1. Lubricate the new joints with silicone grease or soapy water and press them into the arms.
2. Install the beam in place (see Removal and installation the rear suspension torsion beam).
