Caution: When performing maintenance or replacing components of the fuel supply system, observe the appropriate safety precautions.

1. Electronic system (see accompanying illustration) diesel engine control provides the following capabilities:
  • a) Accurate fuel dosing in any operating mode, which ensures low fuel consumption at high power;
  • b) Reduction of harmful substances in exhaust gases due to precise fuel metering and the use of a catalytic converter;
  • c) Idle speed and maximum crankshaft speed limitation are set and adjusted automatically
  • d) Self-diagnosis of the engine management system provides the ability to quickly find a fault.

15.1 Sensors and modules of the diesel engine control system (using the example of Y20DTH/Y22DTR engines): 1. Atmospheric pressure sensor; 2. Solenoid valve for regulating the boost air pressure; 3. Fuel pedal position sensor; 4. Vacuum receiver; 5. Vacuum control valve; 6. Pre-heating system control module; 7. Automatic valves of the vacuum tank - box; 8. Solenoid valve of the shift flap; 9. Throttle solenoid valve.; 10. Boost pressure sensor; 11. Throttle valve vacuum chamber; 12. Crankshaft pulse sensor; 13. Engine oil temperature sensor; 14. Plunger-type distribution fuel injection pump; 15. Coolant temperature sensor; 16. Air mass measurement sensor

2. The engine control system elements maintain high performance for a long time and require virtually no maintenance. Only such elements of the fuel system as the air and fuel filters require regular replacement during vehicle maintenance.
