Attention! Due to the constant modification of ignition systems, it is possible that your vehicle uses spark plugs with different characteristics than those shown in the table. To determine the required type of spark plugs, it is necessary to provide the relevant data entered in the vehicle documentation - consult with authorized representatives of Opel.
1. Detailed information on spark plugs and how to replace them is given in acc. section.
2. Each spark plug has its own ignition coil, which is inserted into the ignition module assembly or installed directly into the spark plug (Z20NET engine). Disassembly and repair of the module in the conditions of a conventional repair shop is not performed - the module is replaced entirely. Ignition coils cannot be repaired.
Engines Z16XE/Z18XE/Z22SE/Z22YH
3. Remove the engine cover.
4. Disconnect the electrical wiring of the ignition module (see resist. illustration). Turn out 4 (on the Z22YH engine - five) module mounting bolts. To remove the ignition module on Z16XE / Z18XE engines, special handles are used that are screwed into the central threaded holes of the module. In their absence, you can use a pair of long bolts of a suitable diameter with the appropriate thread pitch.
5.4 Removing the module (2) Ignition: 1. Electrical wiring plug; 3. Special handles KM-6009
Note: These handles are also used to prevent hand burns when removing the ignition module on a hot engine
5. When removing the ignition module, it is necessary to pull it straight up, try not to skew, in order to avoid damage to the plug connectors of the candles.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

7. Turn out 4 bolts and remove a cover of coils of ignition from a cover of a head of cylinders. Disconnect the coil wiring connectors.
8. Remove 4 fixing screws (1 for each coil) and remove the ignition coils from the spark plugs.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

10. Direct removal / installation of ignition modules is carried out similarly to a 4-cylinder engine, but in order to free access to the ignition modules, it is necessary to additionally perform the following operations.
11. Remove the engine top cover.
12. Remove the corrugated connecting air duct, disconnect the EVAP valve and throttle control module electrical connector.
13. Depressurize the fuel system, disconnect the fuel line and close it with a suitable plug.
14. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the throttle control module and expansion tank hose.
15. Disconnect the vacuum line from the brake booster.
16. Disunite sockets of electroconducting of the electromagnetic valve of switching of the gate of the inlet pipeline and injectors.
17. Disconnect a hose of system of ventilation of a crankcase of the engine and a hose of system of cooling from the inlet pipeline.
18. Turn out 6 bolts of fastening of an inlet collector.
19. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
