Removal and installation the trunk lid / tailgate lock (Opel Vectra C)

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5).

2. Remove the trunk lid trim (see Section 12) / tailgate (see Section 15).

3. Disconnect the rear lid lock wiring connector.

4. On Sedan/Hatchback models, loosen the 2 nuts on the inside of the trunk lid/tailgate, disconnect the lock cylinder actuator cable and remove the lock.

5. On Signum models, disconnect the license plate light wiring connector, remove the 2 plugs (right and left) from the inside of the tailgate, loosen 6 nuts and remove the outer tailgate handle. Then loosen 2 more nuts and remove the tailgate lock switch.

6. Remove 3 screws and remove the lock from the tailgate (see accompanying illustration).

7. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. After installation, check the proper functioning of the locking mechanism with the tailgate open.
