Note: Before you begin, see. Chapter 2.
Removal
1. The fuel pump is located at the rear right end of the camshaft housing.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Disconnect the fuel supply hoses from the pump (see illustration). If necessary, mark the hoses so that they are not mixed up when connected. Plug the open ends of the hoses to prevent dirt from entering and fuel loss.
4. Unscrew the two mounting bolts and remove the pump from the camshaft housing (see illustration).
5. Remove the plastic seal block.
Installation
6. Install in reverse order, but make sure the fuel lines are connected as noted before removing; tighten the mounting bolts with the specified tightening force Specifications.
7. Start the engine and check the system for leaks. If there are leaks, turn off the engine immediately and correct the problem without delay. Note that the engine may take longer to start than usual.
