Ignition coils for X22SE and Y22SE engines (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Remove the lower engine compartment protection.

Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.

Disconnect the coolant hose from the adapter housing located at the rear of the cylinder block.

Disconnect the connector from the fuel tank ventilation solenoid valve (2).

Disconnect the connector from the fuel tank ventilation solenoid valve (2).


Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the fuel tank vent solenoid valve.

Disconnect the high-voltage wires from the ignition coil (1).

To improve access to the ignition coil, remove the fuel line bracket.

Disconnect the connector from the ignition coil.

Remove the bracket with the ignition coil and fuel tank vent solenoid valve.

Remove the ignition coil

Installation



Install the ignition coil on the bracket and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 20 Nm.

Install the bracket with the ignition coil (1) and the fuel tank ventilation solenoid valve (2).

Connect the connector to the ignition coil.

Install the fuel line bracket.

Connect the high voltage wires to the ignition coil.

Connect the vacuum hoses to the fuel tank vent solenoid valve.

Connect the connector to the fuel tank vent solenoid valve.



Connect the coolant hose to the adapter housing located at the rear of the cylinder block.

Install the lower engine compartment protection.

Fill the engine cooling system with coolant, bleed the cooling system and check the cooling system for leaks (see the relevant chapter).
