Always check the contacts of the lamp and the socket to ensure that there is good contact between the lamp, the power wire and the ground. Before installing a new lamp, remove any dirt or corrosion.
When using a finger lamp, make sure that the power contacts are securely pressed against the lamp contacts.
Always check that the new lamp is of the correct wattage and that it is absolutely clean before installation. This especially applies to headlights and front fog lights.
Do not touch the glass bulb of the lamp with bare hands. Grease stains on the lamp lead to darkening of the bulb and rapid failure of the lamp. Be sure to replace defective lamps with lamps of the same type. Wipe off any grease stains that may appear due to carelessness with a clean, lint-free cloth or alcohol.
