Remove air filter.
Set the fast idle speed adjusting screw to the upper cam stage.
Checking the gap -A- in the automatic start valve
Start damper (top damper) carburetor must be completely closed.
If it is not closed because the bimetal spring has not cooled down, close it with a suitable rubber band. With manual choke, pull out the damper rod completely.
Use a suitable vacuum pump to create a vacuum in the vacuum opening device.
Check the dimension -A- of the gap using a drill with a diameter corresponding to the dimension of the gap. Gap size: see No. 4.48.
The clearance is adjusted using screw -B-. If the gap is too small, it is necessary to bend the end of the rod before adjusting in order to have enough play to adjust between the stop and the secondary chamber choke lever (retaining damper). See also «Adjustment of the air damper of the secondary chamber».
After adjusting the gap, the vacuum regulator diaphragm screw must be sealed with varnish.
Gap check -B-
Close the damper with a rubber band.
Open the throttle slightly and set the adjusting screw to the second stage of the fast idle cam. The screw is at the highest level.
Open the automatic start choke slightly to equalize the gap and then close it again.
Check gap -B- of the air damper using a template or drill shank, specified values see No. 4.48.
To correct, remove the carburetor, see paragraph 4.20.
Remove the automation cover and bend the connecting rod between the stepped cam and the choke lever accordingly. With an increase in the bending of the rod, the gap -B- decreases.
Install the automatic cover and carburetor.
Check gap -A- and adjust if necessary.
Install carburetor.
Checking the clearance -C-
Close the air damper with a rubber band.
Fully open throttle (give full throttle).
Using a drill, check the air damper gap and compare with the specified value, see No. 4.48.
To correct, carefully bend the stud -G- to the right - the gap will increase, to the left - the gap will decrease.
Install the air filter.
