On Varaiet carburetors, throttle clearance is adjusted with the carburetor installed using a vacuum gauge. It is necessary to check and, if necessary, adjust the vacuum if a new throttle valve has been installed or if it is not possible to adjust the idle speed and the CO content in the exhaust gases.
Turn off all electrical consumers.
The engine must be hot and the oil temperature must be at least 60°C.
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum ignition timing mechanism.
Connect an appropriate vacuum gauge to the vacuum ignition timing diaphragm mechanism.
Start the engine and measure the degree of vacuum in the ignition system. Setpoints see No. 4.48.
If the degree of vacuum differs from the specified value, shine the seal with the stop screw of the throttle valve.
Adjust to the required value by turning the stop screw. Reinstall the seal.
