In Varaiet carburettors, the throttle clearance is adjusted on the installed carburettor using a vacuum measuring device. It is necessary to check and, if necessary, adjust the vacuum if a new throttle valve has been installed or if the idle speed and CO content in the exhaust gases cannot be adjusted.
Turn off all electrical consumers.
The engine must be hot, the oil temperature must be at least 60°C.
Remove the vacuum hose from the diaphragm mechanism of the vacuum regulator of ignition timing.
Connect a suitable vacuum measuring device to the diaphragm mechanism of the vacuum regulator of the ignition advance.
Start the engine and measure the degree of vacuum in the ignition system. Specified values see paragraph 4.48.
If the vacuum level differs from the specified value, remove the seal from the throttle valve stop screw.
Adjust to the required value by turning the stop screw. Reinstall the seal.
