This is a downdraft carburetor. The diameter of the primary chamber is 35 mm, the secondary 45 mm. Throttle valves I and II chambers are mechanically controlled and actuated sequentially.
1 - Distribution channel.; 2 - Idling throttle.; 3 - Idle shutoff valve; 4 - Air channel; 5 - Idle speed adjustment screw (mixture circulation); 6 - CO adjustment screw; 7 - Release of combustible mixture; 8 - bypass hole; 9 - Idling tube; 10 - Idle jet f.
The carburetor consists of 3 main parts: a cover, a body and a throttle part made of die-cast aluminium. 1st chamber consists of 3 concentric funnels (ventura), which supply the engine with a fuel-air mixture at low and medium loads. At high acceleration and high speeds, the need for a fuel-air mixture is satisfied by connecting a second chamber. The second chamber also uses an air damper, which ensures a smooth transition to the operation of the second chamber.
Depending on the version, the carburetor is equipped with an automatic starter or a manually operated air damper. Starting automation is controlled by a bimetallic spring, which is heated by a heating element. The float chamber with float is located in the middle and has a one-piece float.
Since June 1982, 1.3-litre engines have been equipped with a Varajet II type carburetor with manual choke instead of a device that dispenses additional fuel at start-up.
The fuel filter is located in the fuel supply line of the float housing and is easily accessible for cleaning or replacement.
