Idle speed adjustment (Opel Kadett D)

Before adjustment, it is necessary to ensure that the hydraulic valve clearance compensators, the contact closure angle of the breaker, the ignition timing and the gap between the electrodes in the spark plugs correspond to the norm.

Warm up the engine to an oil temperature of 60°C.

Turn off all consumers.

Open the air starting damper fully.

Pull out and pinch the crankcase ventilation hose in the cylinder head cover.

Connect the tachometer.

In vehicles with automatic transmission, idle speed adjustment should be performed with the lever in position "P".

Start the engine.

Attention! During the adjustment work, the radiator fan should not work. Do not remove the air filter.

Check idle speed. Adjust with mixture circulation screw. Value see paragraph 4.48.
