Checking the opening time of the starting air damper (Opel Kadett D)

Shine the air filter cover.

Press the gas pedal, start the engine.

Start a cold engine at a room temperature of about +20°C.

After 3-4 minutes the starting valve should be fully open.

If the opening time is more than 4 minutes, replace the automatic starter cover or check that the starter flap is not jammed or turn the cover in the direction corresponding to faster opening.

Install the air filter cover.
