Installing a damping valve (Opel Kadett D)

Since 16.02.81, a damping valve (OPEL - No.831790) has been installed in the vacuum hose between the carburetor and the membrane mechanism of the vacuum ignition advance regulator. This valve eliminates the too rapid opening of the paired valve of the 2nd chamber, as a result of which, during acceleration, dips in the range of revolutions between 2700-3500 rpm no longer occur. In case of additional installation of the damping valve, it should be ensured that the spherical part of the valve is on the carburetor side.
