Note. It is necessary to remove the rear suspension beam with assistants who will hold and lower it.
You will need: keys «at 18» (two), «at 21», TORX sockets E10, E30, flat blade screwdriver.
1. Remove rear wheels.
Attention! Loosen and tighten the wheel nuts only with the vehicle on the ground.
2. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the brake calipers (see Replacing the rear parking brake cables).
3. Remove the parking brake cables from the two holders on both arms of the rear suspension beam and move them aside.
4. Turn out bolts..
5.... and remove the wheel rotation sensors from the knuckles of the rear suspension beam on both sides.
6. Remove the wheel speed sensor harness holders from the brackets on the rear suspension beam.
7. Turn out bolts fitting of fastening of brake hoses to brake calipers of rear wheels and disconnect hoses from calipers.
Note. Take measures to prevent leakage of brake fluid from the hoses by plugging them, for example, with wooden plugs.
8. Turn out bolts of fastening of two holders of brake hoses …
9.... and take the hoses away from the beam.
10. Turn out bolts of the lower fastenings of shock-absorbers …
11.... and remove them from the shock absorber eyes.
12. Similarly turn out bolts of fastening of jet rods.
Note. For convenience, tie the torque rods to the cross member of the body.
13. Remove the rear suspension springs with their top and bottom spacers (see Replacing the rear suspension spring).
14. Turn out from both sides on four bolts of fastening of arms of a beam of a back suspension bracket to a body …
15.... and remove the beam assembly with the brakes and rear wheel hubs.
16. Holding the bolt from turning, unscrew the nut with the second wrench, remove the bolt..
17.... and remove the bracket. Remove the second bracket in the same way.
The right and left brackets for attaching the rear suspension beam are the same.
The silent blocks of the levers of the rear suspension beam are installed in the eyelets of the levers with a very high interference. Pressing or pressing them requires a powerful press and special mandrels. If you press the silent block out of the eye, you can also use a hammer, after sawing the silent block along the axis (at the same time, the fit of the silent block in the eye is significantly weakened), then it is almost impossible to press the silent block with a hammer without damaging it. In this regard, if it is necessary to replace silent blocks, we recommend contacting a service that has the appropriate equipment.
18. Remove calipers, brake discs (see Rear wheel brakes) and rear wheel hubs (see Replacing the rear wheel hub).
19. Establish a beam of a back suspension bracket and all removed details in sequence, return to removal.
20. After installing the beam, bleed the brake system (see Bleeding the hydraulic drive of the brake system) and adjust the parking brake if necessary (see Parking brake actuator adjustment).
