Attention! Before raising the rear of the vehicle, engage first gear and chock the front wheels. With the rear end raised, place secure supports next to the jack.
shock absorbers (left and right) replace in pairs.
Do not remove both shock absorbers at the same time with the rear of the vehicle suspended, as lowering the rear suspension beam below the permissible limit can damage the pipelines and hoses of the brake system.
1. Jack up the vehicle and remove the wheel from the side of the shock absorber to be replaced.
2. Install a telescopic support or a jack under the rear suspension beam to prevent the beam from moving down when the shock absorber is disconnected.
3. Turn out a bolt of the lower fastening of the shock-absorber …
4.... and remove it from the shock absorber eye.
5. Turn out two bolts of the top fastening of the shock-absorber …
6.... and remove the shock absorber.
7. While holding the stem from turning, unscrew the nut securing the shock absorber upper support bracket..
8.... and remove the support from the stem.
Note. Check the integrity of the support, if damaged, replace the support with a new one.
9. Remove the protective boot with compression buffer from the stem.
10. Install the shock absorber vertically and lower and raise the shock absorber rod several times until it stops. Make sure that the stem moves without dips, jams and knocks. Otherwise, replace the shock absorber. Also, replace the shock absorber if fluid leaks are found (slight fogging is allowed in the upper part of the case) and if the threads in the upper part of the stem are damaged.
11. Establish the shock-absorber in an order, the return to removal. Bolts of fastening of the shock-absorber finally tighten on the car standing on the earth.
12. Similarly replace the second shock-absorber.
