1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the left front section of the floor tunnel trim (see Removal and installation the floor tunnel lining).

3. Pull down the driver's footwell air supply nozzle..

4. …and, moving it from the air duct…

5. …remove the nozzle.

Note: The air inlet nozzle must be removed because it blocks access to the wiring harness connectors of the additional passive restraint system electronic control unit.

6. Slide the lock of the front connector of the wiring harness of the electronic control unit of the additional passive restraint system back…

7. …move the lock back until it stops…

8. …and disconnect the connector from the block.

9. Slide the lock of the rear connector of the wiring harness of the unit forward..

10. …move the lock forward until it stops…

11. …and disconnect the connector from the block.

12. Unscrew the three nuts securing the electronic control unit of the additional passive safety system to the base of the body…

13. ...and remove the block.

14. Install the additional passive restraint system control unit and all other parts in the reverse order. There is no arrow on the label of the passive restraint system control unit indicating the direction of its installation, since due to its asymmetrical shape, the unit can only be installed in one position.
