SOHC engines
1. Walk along the wiring harness from the lambda probe and disconnect the connector. Release the wiring harness from all intermediate clips so that the sensor can be removed with the manifold.
2. Remove the exhaust pipe (see Systems of release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
3. Disconnect the heated air supply hose from the exhaust manifold branch pipe, unscrew the fixing bolts and remove the branch pipe.
4. Remove tips of high-voltage wires from spark plugs of the first, second and third cylinders. Release and remove the heat shields of the spark plugs from the collector - use the special KM-834 head.
5. Give nuts of fastening of a collector to a head of cylinders. Remove a collector together with a sealing lining and take it from an impellent compartment.
6. Check the collector mounting studs for signs of corrosion and mechanical damage, damage, replace if necessary.
7. Make sure that the mating surfaces are absolutely clean and dry, install a new gasket.
8. Install the manifold, screw on new fixing nuts and tighten them to the required force.
9. Lubricate the threads of the heat shields with high temperature grease, install the shields and tighten them to the required torque. Install the spark plug wires.
10. Install the branch pipe on the manifold, screw in the fixing bolts and tighten them with the required force. Install the heated air supply hose.
11. Connect the electrical wiring to the lambda probe, make sure that the gasket is correctly laid and the harness is securely fixed.
12. Install the exhaust pipe (see Systems of release and decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases).
Engines 1.4 and 1.6 l DOHC
1. Remove the oil filler cap, remove the fixing screws and remove the engine guard. Walk along the wiring harness from the lambda probe and disconnect the connector. Release the wiring harness from all intermediate clips so that the sensor can be removed with the manifold.
2. Turn out bolts of fastening to a collector of a reception pipe of system of release of the fulfilled gases, separate a pipe and remove a sealing lining. Turn out three fixing bolts and remove a heat-protective screen.
3. Give nuts of fastening of a collector to a head of cylinders. Remove the manifold with gasket and remove it from the engine compartment.
4. Install the collector in its regular place (see above SOHC engines, item 6—8).
5. Establish a new lining between a collector and a reception pipe of system of release of the fulfilled gases, screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the demanded effort.
6. Connect the electrical wiring to the lambda probe, make sure that the laying is correct and the harness is securely fixed.
Engines 1.8 l
1. Remove the oil filler cap, remove the fixing screws and remove the engine guard. Turn out bolts of fastening to a collector of a reception pipe of system of release of the fulfilled gases, separate a pipe and remove a sealing lining.
2. Empty the cooling system (see chapter Current service).
3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the large hose from the thermostat housing.
4. Turn out three fixing bolts and remove the thermofilter from a collector.
5. Turn out a bolt of fastening of an arm of a directing tube of the dipstick of measurement of level of impellent oil. Tilt the handset to the side.
6. Give fixing nuts and remove a collector, a sealing lining is subject to replacement without fail.
7. Install manifold (see above SOHC engines, item 6—8).
8. Replace the heat shield (the bottom bolt is shorter than the rest), connect the coolant hose to the thermostat. Recharge the cooling system (see chapter Current service).
9. Connect to a collector a reception pipe of system of release of the fulfilled gases, - do not forget to replace a sealing lining.
10. Install the motor guard.
Engines 2.0 l
1. Remove the two transport lugs from the cylinder head.
2. Disconnect from a head a forward hose of system of cooling, - do not disconnect a tube.
3. Turn out fixing screws and remove a thermofilter.
4. Give fixing nuts and remove a collector, a sealing lining is subject to replacement without fail.
5. Install manifold (see above SOHC engines, item 6—8).
6. Connect to a collector a reception pipe of system of release of the fulfilled gases, - tighten fixing bolts with the demanded effort.
7. Install a heat shield on the collector, screw in the bolts of its fastening and tighten them with the required force.
8. Connect to a head of cylinders a forward tube of system of cooling.
9. Establish on a head of cylinders transport eyes, - trace reliability of a tightening of bolts.
