Air temperature controller knob
Turning the knob clockwise increases the temperature of the air entering the passenger compartment.
Fan speed selection knob
Turning the knob clockwise increases the fan speed and, consequently, the intensity of the air supply to the vehicle interior. Moving the handle to the extreme left position turns off the fan.
Closed air circuit switch
With this button, the mode of closed air circulation in the passenger compartment is switched on. The button is equipped with a built-in control lamp. When the mode is turned on, the interior of the car is isolated from the atmosphere and the flow of fresh air into it stops. The fan circulates air in a closed circuit. By pressing the button again (the control lamp should go out), the fresh air supply to the passenger compartment will resume.
When choosing the direction of air distribution for blowing the windshield (see below p. Handle for switching air distribution directions) the closed air circulation mode is turned off automatically in order to speed up the process of removing condensate from the windows.
Heated rear window switch
The switch button is also equipped with a built-in control lamp that lights up when the heating is turned on. In order to protect the battery from discharging, a timer is built into the circuit of the heater with a high energy intensity, which automatically turns off the glass heating after 15 minutes of continuous operation.

Using the button, the K / V is turned on and off (air cooling mode selection). In this case, the blowing intensity is reduced, however, if desired, it can be increased. The button is equipped with a built-in control lamp.
Ventilation grill deflector control
The deflectors of the nozzles of the central air ducts of the instrument panel are equipped with special louvered deflectors that allow you to adjust the deflection of the supplied air flow both in the horizontal and vertical planes. The deflectors are controlled by means of ring handles located on the sides (0 = air supply blocked) and levers built into the nozzle grille.
The deflectors of the side air ducts of the instrument panel have a similar design (1), in addition, unregulated and door glass blowing nozzles are located a little higher (2).
Instructions for the use of ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems
Below are detailed instructions for the operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in various climatic conditions. The reader is provided with information on how to ensure efficient ventilation, heating and cooling of the air in the car, as well as how to quickly remove condensation and frost from the windows.
All systems under consideration operate only when the engine is running. Engine coolant is used as the working fluid of the heater heat exchanger. If the engine is not warmed up to normal operating temperature, it will take several minutes before warm air is blown into the passenger compartment.
The operation of the air conditioning system is independent of the engine coolant temperature.
In the vast majority of cases, the best performance of systems that provide a comfortable microclimate is achieved in the mode of supplying outside air to the passenger compartment. Long-term activation of the closed circulation mode, especially when the air conditioner is not working, leads to fogging of the windows and an increase in the stuffiness of the air, therefore it is recommended to turn on this mode only if necessary and for a relatively short time, for example, when driving through areas with a smoky or polluted atmosphere. As soon as it is no longer necessary to isolate the passenger compartment, the supply of fresh air to the passenger compartment must be resumed.
Outside atmospheric air enters the heating and air conditioning systems through intake grilles located in front of the windshield and equipped with a fairing. Periodically clean the openings of the intake grille from leaves and other debris that obstructs the passage of air.
Vehicle interior ventilation
The supply and exhaust ventilation system provides a constant exchange of air in the car. Fresh outside air, which enters through the front intake grille, circulates through the passenger compartment and is then expelled through outlets located in the luggage compartment stowage boxes.
1. Turn the air temperature control knob counterclockwise until it stops. Check that the air conditioner is turned off.
2. Set the air direction switch knob to the position. Closed air circulation mode must be turned off.
3. Using the fan speed selection knob, set the required air supply to the vehicle interior.
Cooling the air in the car
Cooling mode can only be selected when the engine is running. At low outside temperatures, the cooling mode is automatically switched off.
Interior cooling is carried out as follows:
1. Turn on the air conditioner by pressing the button «A/C», - the control lamp built into the switch should light up.
2. Check that the air temperature control knob is turned to the leftmost position.
3. Set the air direction switch knob to the position.
4. At high humidity of the outside air, turn on the closed circulation mode, at low humidity, turn on the fresh air intake mode.
5. Use the blower speed selector to set the desired airflow rate to the passenger compartment.
If the vehicle has been exposed to the sun for a long time and the air in the passenger compartment is very hot, quickly reduce the temperature in the passenger compartment as follows:
1. Start the engine.
2. Turn on the air conditioner (button «A/C»). Check that the air temperature control knob is turned to the leftmost position.
3. Use the blower speed selector to set the maximum airflow to the passenger compartment.
4. Partially open the windows and turn the air distribution direction switch knob to the position.
5. Turn on the closed circulation mode, after a while close the windows.
The operation of the air conditioning system leads to an increase in the load on the car engine, therefore, when driving with frequent stops and at low speed in a busy urban cycle, or overcoming long climbs of considerable steepness, you should carefully monitor the arrow of the coolant temperature gauge (see Dashboard). When the pointer approaches the red range of the scale, temporarily turn off the air conditioner until the engine temperature returns to normal.
Car interior heating
In order to raise the temperature of the air in the passenger compartment, perform the following manipulations.
1. Start the engine.
2. Set the air distribution direction switch knob to the position. Closed air circulation mode must be turned off.
3. Use the blower speed selector to set the desired airflow rate to the passenger compartment.
4. Turning the knob of the air temperature regulator in one direction or another, set the desired degree of air heating.
Interior heating with simultaneous dehumidification with air conditioning
When the air conditioning system is operating, the humidity in the car interior is reduced, which allows, by simultaneously turning on the heating and air conditioning systems, to make the air in the car interior warm and dry.
1. Turn on the fan.
2. Turn on the air conditioner.
3. Set the air distribution direction switch knob to the position. Air recirculation mode must be turned off.
4. Turning the knob of the air temperature regulator in one direction or another, set the desired degree of heating of the air entering the passenger compartment. In this mode, cold air from the air conditioner is mixed with warm air from the heater.
The joint inclusion of heating and air conditioning systems can be used in any driving conditions when the ambient temperature is above 0°C.
Removing condensation and frost from windows
You can clean the internal surfaces of the glass from condensed moisture as follows:
1. Turn on the fan.
2. If the vehicle is equipped with the appropriate equipment, turn on the air conditioner.
3. Set the air distribution direction switch knob to the position. Closed air circulation mode must be turned off. Some versions of the car provide for the possibility of automatically switching on the mode of supplying fresh air and its conditioning by setting the handle for switching the directions of air distribution to the position.
4. Turn the air temperature control knob so that warm air is supplied through the windshield defroster nozzles.
5. Turn on the rear window defroster to remove condensed moisture from its surface more quickly. On some vehicle versions, if the air distribution direction switch knob is in any position other than , the air conditioner remains on. To turn off the air conditioner, press the A/C button.
In order to remove frost or ice from the outer surface of the windshield and side windows, formed after the car was parked on the street in frosty weather, perform the following manipulations:
1. Turn on the ignition by turning the key in the lock to position «ON» (II).
2. Set the air distribution direction switch knob to the position. Closed air circulation mode must be turned off. Some versions of the car provide for the possibility of automatically switching on the mode of supplying fresh air and air conditioning by setting the handle for switching the distribution direction modes to the position.
3. Turn the air temperature control knob to the extreme right position (maximum air heating) and turn on the fan at maximum speed.
4. Start the car engine.
To speed up the removal of frost or ice from the windshield in very cold weather, it is recommended to first turn on the closed air circulation mode. After the windshield is free of frost, resume the fresh air supply to prevent fogging of the windows.
In the windshield blowing mode, all air supplied to the passenger compartment enters through slotted nozzles located on top of the instrument panel at the base of the windshield, as well as through the side ventilation deflectors of the instrument panel. The glass blowing temperature and the glass cleaning speed increase as the engine warms up. To speed up the process of removing condensation, frost or ice from the windshield, you can close the side vents (position 0, - see above p. Ventilation grill deflector control). In this case, all the air will go exclusively to blowing the windshield.
For safety reasons, do not start driving until all windows of the vehicle are clear of condensation and the driver has adequate visibility.
Switching off heating and ventilation systems
To temporarily turn off the heating and ventilation systems, turn the knobs of the fan speed and air temperature controls to their extreme left positions.
The need to turn off the systems occurs in the first few minutes after starting the engine in cold weather, as this ensures that the engine warms up more quickly to a temperature sufficient for efficient operation of the heater. In all other cases, in order to avoid stagnation of air in the cabin, keep the fan constantly on.
Climate control system
The climate control system may be standard on some models and automatically controls ventilation, heating and air conditioning in the cabin. The heater and air conditioner maintain the set air temperature. In addition, the climate control system automatically selects the required fan speed and distributes air distribution depending on the set temperature.
The direction of the air flows entering the passenger compartment from the central and side ventilation nozzles can be manually adjusted using the movable deflector grilles (see above p. Ventilation grill deflector control).
System operation in automatic mode
The design of the K / V control system allows the activation of the automatic mode when the engine is not running (during a forced long stop, for example, before a railway crossing). Turn on the ignition and press the button «AUTO», — the set temperature level will be displayed on the display screen (adjustment can be made using the appropriate regulator). The duration of the operation of the climate control system with the engine turned off is limited. To forcibly turn off the mode, press the button again «AUTO».

Switching the climate control system to automatic operation by pressing a button «AUTO» on the instrument panel. Set the desired air temperature by turning the left knob. The system display screen should show «AUTO».
The system automatically creates the optimal combination of air flows entering through the air conditioner and / or heat exchanger of the heater, ensuring the fastest heating or cooling of the air in the cabin to the set temperature, the operation of the automatically launched controls is accompanied by the display of the corresponding symbolic images on the display screen.
To quickly warm up or cool the air in the cabin, turn on the closed air circulation mode and turn the temperature control knob to one of the extreme (left or right) positions, - this sets the upper (32°С) or bottom (18°C) temperature limit. If the air temperature control is turned to one of the extreme positions, the system will work continuously without shutting down and heating/cooling the air as efficiently as possible. At the same time, the system does not control the current air temperature in the vehicle interior. If the regulator knob is set to one of the intermediate positions, the system will automatically maintain the set air temperature in the passenger compartment.
In cold weather, the fan automatically turns on only after the engine has been running for a while and the heater is ready to heat the air.
The climate control system is turned off by turning the fan operation control knob to the extreme left position - the indication on the display screen should go out.
The system should not be in a disabled state for any length of time. To avoid stagnation of air in the cabin and the appearance of unpleasant odors, it is recommended to keep the fan on all the time.
Operation of the system in semi-automatic mode
It is possible to manually turn on any of the functions of the climate control system when the latter is in automatic mode. At the same time, automatic control of the management of all other system functions is maintained. Squeezing any of the control buttons puts the system into semi-automatic mode, - a control lamp built into the button «AUTO», and the corresponding text on the display should go out.
In order to minimize fuel consumption, it is possible to forcibly turn off the cooling / dehumidification modes by pressing a button «ECO», — an inscription of the corresponding content is displayed on the display screen. Return to the air conditioning mode is carried out by pressing the button again (the corresponding indication should go out).
The activation of the modes for removing condensate / ice from the windows and the choice of the direction of air distribution are made using the corresponding buttons on the control panel for the operation of the system (see illustration HVAC operation control panel on models equipped with climate control). Symbolic images of the corresponding content will be displayed on the display screen.
The choice of the required directions of air supply is carried out by the combined use of three control buttons.
Using the left rotary handle of the instrument panel, the required temperature mode is set, the right handle allows you to select the speed mode of the heater fan, as well as turn off the A/C system.
Features of the functioning of the climate control system with an open convertible top on Cabriolet models
Opening the convertible top automatically switches off the air conditioning system, making the following modes impossible:
1. Automatic climate control;
2. Closed air circulation;
3. Removal of condensate and ice from glasses;
4. Heated rear window.
All other controls continue to function, the temperature will be adjusted in steps from zero to ten levels.
Solar radiation and air temperature sensors
The climate control system includes two information sensors: a solar radiation sensor mounted on top of the instrument panel, between the slotted windshield blowing nozzles and an air temperature sensor located next to the steering wheel. Avoid placing objects on top of the sensors and do not allow any liquids to come into contact with them.
