Removal
1. Using a screwdriver, carefully remove the vacuum hose with adapter from the front of the brake booster servo assembly.
2. Disconnect the hose from the intake manifold (petrol models)/ vacuum pump (diesel models). Remove the hose from the vehicle.
3. The hose sections can be replaced individually, apart from the valve and adapters. Use a sharp knife to cut the hose off the relevant section. Cut a piece of new hose to the appropriate length and pull it tightly onto the part - note that the check valve is installed with the arrow marked on it facing the inlet manifold.
Examination
1. Check the check valve, hoses and adapters for mechanical damage, replace defective elements. The check valve can be checked by blowing from each side. In one direction, the valve should pass air freely, in the opposite direction, (from amplifier to pipeline/pump) - do not let through at all. A faulty valve must be replaced.

Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
1. The valve is installed with the arrow marked on it facing the inlet pipe.
2. Finally, start the engine and check the vacuum connections for signs of developing leaks. Check the proper functioning of the vacuum booster (see Checking the proper functioning/tightness, removing and installing the brake booster assembly).
