Removal and installation the parking brake lever (Opel Astra G)

1. Remove the center console cover and the lever protective cover.

2. Completely unscrew the adjusting nut.

3. Remove the center console (see Chapter Body).

4. Remove the parking brake engagement indicator light switch (see Removal, installation and adjustment of the brake light switch sensor).

5. Loosen the lever mounting nuts.



6. Release the plastic clips at the base of the lever assembly and remove the latter.

7. Remove the base plate installed in front of the drive cable and remove the gasket.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally, adjust the parking brake drive (see Adjusting the parking brake drive).
