2. Disconnect the wires and insulate the battery terminals. Wait at least 1 minute for the SRS battery pack capacitor to fully discharge.
3. Set the key in the ignition switch to position «I».
4. Turn the steering wheel to the left 45°, insert a small Phillips screwdriver into the hole on the back of the steering wheel (see resist. illustration) and press it all the way. Pull the screwdriver in the direction of the arrow and depress the retaining spring while prying up the airbag module.

5. Turn the steering wheel to the right to the appropriate position and press the second retaining spring in the same way. Carefully remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
6. Using a screwdriver, remove the safety clips and disconnect the electrical wiring connectors of the airbag module (see resist. illustration).

Note: Pre-April 2003 models only have one wiring connector.
Set the module aside (to a safe place) decorative lid up.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. All operations must be carried out carefully. After installing the module, set the ignition key to position «ABOUT», then connect the battery.
Attention: When connecting wires to the battery terminals (see chapter 5) no one should be inside the car!
8 Switch on the ignition and check the serviceability of the additional security system according to the indications of the control lamp.
