2. Disconnect the wires and insulate the battery terminals. Wait at least 1 minute to allow the SRS independent power supply capacitor to discharge completely.
3. Turn the ignition key to position "I".
4. Turn the steering wheel to the left 45°, insert a small Phillips screwdriver into the hole on the back of the steering wheel (see accompanying illustration) and press it until it stops. Pull the screwdriver in the direction indicated by the arrow and press the locking spring while lifting the airbag module.

5. Turn the steering wheel to the right to the appropriate position and press the second locking spring in the same way. Carefully remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
6. Using a screwdriver, remove the safety clips and disconnect the airbag module wiring connectors (see accompanying illustration).
12.6 Disconnect the connectors (4 and 5) of the electrical wiring of the module (1) of the driver's front airbag, having first pressed the safety clips (7) using a screwdriver (6)
Note: On models produced before April 2003, there is only one wiring connector.
Put the module aside (to a safe place) decorative lid facing up.
7. Installation is performed in reverse order. All operations must be performed carefully. After installing the module, set the ignition key to position "O", then connect the battery.
Caution: When connecting wires to the battery terminals (see Chapter 5) no one should be inside the car!
8 Turn on the ignition and check the functionality of the additional safety system using the indicator lamp.
