2. Disconnect the wires and insulate the battery terminals. Wait at least 1 minute to allow the SRS independent power supply capacitor to discharge completely.
3. Turn the steering wheel to the right 90°, insert a small screwdriver into the hole on the back of the steering wheel (see accompanying illustration) and carefully, trying not to bend it, press the retainer inward.

4. Turn the steering wheel to the left to the appropriate position and press the second lock in the same way. Carefully remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
Attention: Before disconnecting the electrical wiring, you must remove any electrostatic voltage from yourself by briefly touching the metal wedge of the door lock or the car body!
5. Remove the safety nipple and disconnect the electrical connector from the airbag module (see accompanying illustration). Put the module aside (to a safe place) decorative lid facing up.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order. All operations must be carried out carefully.
Caution: When connecting wires to the battery terminals (see Chapter 5) no one should be inside the car!
7. Turn on the ignition and check the serviceability of the additional safety system according to the readings of the control lamp (see Chapter "Controls and operating techniques", Sections 13 and 16).
