Removal and installation the steering column switch contact block (Opel Astra H)

1. The contact block combines the right and left steering column switches (see Chapter "Controls and operating techniques", Section 17). When replacing, mandatory adjustment of the new contact block at the service station using special equipment is required.

2. Remove the steering wheel (see Section 10).

3. Remove the upper and lower steering column cover panels (see Chapter 11).

4. Remove the 3 mounting bolts (see accompanying illustration), use a screwdriver to disconnect the cable clamp, press the lock and disconnect the wiring connector.



5. Remove the contact block from the steering wheel shaft.

Attention: After removing the contact block, do not rotate its axis under any circumstances!

6. When installing the contact block, make sure that its spring is in the middle position. Follow the instructions on the contact block.

7. Install the contact block on the shaft so that the corresponding marks match (see accompanying illustration), secure the unit and connect the electrical wiring connectors.



8. Install the steering wheel (see Section 10).
