Maintenance work
The injection system is sensitive to pollution, so the fuel is passed through a special filter in it. Especially when refueling from a freshly filled underground tank, agitated dirt particles can get into the Vectra's fuel tank, so if possible, do not refuel at gas stations that have just received gasoline. The fuel filter should be changed regularly (every 30,000 km), it is not cleaned.
Where possible, depressurize the fuel lines using the test fitting on the distribution line.
Raise the rear of the car.
Loosen the tape on the filter (on the left in the direction of travel) and remove the filter.
Loosen the quick-release fasteners on the filter. To do this, install screwdrivers at both notches and press the tabs down.
Pull out the plug connection at the same time. Be careful, fuel is pouring out! Lay a rag around the closures.
Remount the connecting clips on the new filter.
Press the quick-release shutters against the filter until you can hear them lock into place. At the same time, take into account the mark in the form of an arrow on the filter housing. It indicates the direction of flow towards the motor.
The photo on the left shows the dismantled fuel pump. The photo on the right shows individual parts of the fuel pump. The numbers indicate:
1 - fuel pump;
2 - retaining ring;
3 - fuel pump housing;
4 - filter grid.
