Replacing the fuel filter (Opel Vectra B)

            0

Maintenance work

The injection system is sensitive to contamination, so the fuel is passed through a special filter. Especially when refuelling, from a freshly filled underground tank, stirred-up dirt particles can get into the Vectra's fuel tank, so, if possible, do not refuel at petrol stations where petrol has just arrived. The fuel filter should be replaced regularly (every 30,000 km), it is not cleaned.

Where possible, relieve pressure in the fuel lines via a test connection on the fuel distribution line.

Raise the rear of the vehicle.

Loosen the tape on the filter (on the left in the direction of travel) and remove the filter.

Loosen the quick release latches on the filter by placing a screwdriver at both notches and pressing the tabs down.

At the same time, stretch the plug connection. Be careful, fuel will spill out! Place a rag around the valves.

Reinstall the connecting clamps onto the new filter.

Press the quick-release closures against the filter until you hear them lock into place. Note the arrow mark on the filter housing. It indicates the direction of flow to the engine.
