Removal the fuel pump (Opel Vectra B)

Empty the fuel tank as much as possible while driving. Drain the fuel if necessary.

Where possible, relieve pressure in the fuel lines using a test connection on the fuel rail.

Move the front seats forward.

Fold the rear seat down.

Press the black plastic cover out of the mounting hole in the bottom of the car.

Disconnect the multi-pin connector on the locking cover.

Mark and remove fuel hoses, fuel is leaking! Cover connections with a rag.

Unscrew the retaining ring using a screwdriver and hammer. To do this, place the screwdriver in the recess of the retaining ring and unscrew the ring to the left.

Remove the retaining ring.

Lift the fuel tank cap slightly and remove the fuel pump hoses from the cap. Label the hoses.

Unlock and disconnect both wire connectors on the locking cover.

To remove the pump from the fuel tank, simultaneously press inward on the three retaining tabs around the perimeter of the pump.

Grab the eyelet on the right side of the pump with a hook and remove the pump together with the housing from the fuel tank.

Installation: Insert the pump together with the housing into the fuel tank and press it until you hear it lock into place.

Install the fuel hoses and wire connectors onto the filler cap.

Place the sealing ring on the cap and place the cap on the fuel tank.

Install the retaining ring and turn it to the left with a screwdriver until the retaining tabs are locked in place.

Connect the fuel hoses and wire connectors.

Disassembling the fuel pump



Place the dismantled pump with the housing on a clean, lint-free surface.



Mark the mounting position and use gentle rotational movements to remove the filter screen from the pump.

Mark both wire connectors at the top of the pump and disconnect them from the pump. Mark and disconnect the fuel hoses in the same way.

At the top of the pump, remove the plastic ring by squeezing the three locking tabs.

1 and 2 - quick-acting closures;
3 - retaining tape;
4 - fuel filter.


In different places, press the retaining ring away from the pump body, remove the pump from the body.

When installing, press the retaining ring until it is fully fixed in the grooves.

Install the filter mesh using a rotating motion.
