The basis of the suspension is a V-shaped beam. Depending on the engine power and gearbox model, an additional stabilizer can be installed. Trailing arms are welded to the downwardly open V-beam. Even without a stabilizer, this design reduces the roll of the car when cornering.
Opel Vectra/Calibra all-wheel drive vehicles are equipped with inclined arms and independent rear wheel suspension. The elastic elements of the suspension are barrel-shaped coil springs and hydraulic shock absorbers. The stabilizer reduces the roll of the car when cornering and ensures good contact of the rear wheels with the road. In the middle of the rear axle of such cars is the rear axle gearbox. It is fixed on the transverse beam and connected to the bottom through rubber buffers. This block suppresses the own vibrations of the rear axle gearbox.
Attention! Welding and straightening work on the rear suspension is not allowed!
