Battery charging system



The G9U 730 engine is equipped with a Valeo SG 12 B072 (125 A) generator.

Removal



1. Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

2. Disconnect the battery.

3. Disconnect the wiring connector from the air flow meter.

4. Remove the air filter, cover and engine guard.

5. Disconnect the wiring connector from the boost pressure sensor.

6. Remove the air duct between the air distributor and the charge air cooling radiator.

7. Remove the accessory drive belt.

8. Disconnect the wiring connectors from the oil level sensor, air conditioning compressor and generator.

9. Unscrew the three bolts 1 securing the air conditioning compressor (figure 4.107).

10. Remove the air conditioning compressor.

11. Remove roller 2 and unscrew the generator mounting bolts (figure 4.108).

12. Remove the generator using a screwdriver.

Installation



13. To facilitate installation of the generator, clamp the bushings A (figure 4.109).

14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
