The light and turn signal switch only functions when the ignition is on.

Moving the switch lever toward the steering wheel until it clicks switches from low to high beam headlights and vice versa.

Flashing headlights
When you move the switch lever toward the steering wheel, regardless of the switch position, the headlights will turn on.
Note: The headlight flashing mode can also be activated when the headlights/exterior lights are off.
