The identification number consists of letters and numbers that must be indicated when ordering spare parts. Correct indication of vehicle data eliminates errors when purchasing spare parts.

The type plate and the vehicle weight plate are located on the right side at the top of the front panel. The data shown on the identification plate is coded in English: Type Control Number (TA-No.), Vehicle Identification Number (GVW), Gross Transport Weight (GCW), Additional Load on Front Axle (Axle 1), Rear Axle (Axle 2) and Type Number (Type).

The identification number stamped on the right chassis longitudinal beam is important. The location of this room is shown in the illustration.

The so-called service plate is attached to the bulkhead of the engine compartment. This plate contains the following data: model number, chassis number, delivery code, option code (special equipment supplied on request), equipment code, paint code, seat upholstery code. The engine number is stamped on the left wall of the cylinder block.
Using the car code, which contains 17 positions, you can accurately identify your car and obtain data on the engine model, base, whether the car has a sports version or a flat roof, whether the body is a station wagon, three-door or five-door, determine the year of manufacture and manufacturer. Positions of the number from 12 to 17 indicate the actual vehicle number.
It is important to keep in mind that some of the engines installed in the Frontera are also used in other Opel vehicles (for example, Omega, Vectra). However, the engine number indicates the engine of the Frontera.
