The identification number consists of letters and numbers that must be specified when ordering spare parts. The correct indication of the vehicle data excludes errors when purchasing spare parts.
The type plate and the vehicle weight plate are located on the upper right side of the front panel. The data on the identification plate is encoded in English: type control number (TA-№), vehicle identification number (GVW), total transported weight (GCW), additional load on the front axle (Axle 1), rear axle (Axle 2) and type number (Type).
Important is the identification number embossed on the right longitudinal beam of the chassis. The location of this number is shown in the illustration.
The so-called service plate is attached to the bulkhead of the engine compartment. This label contains the following information: model number, chassis number, shipping code, option code (special equipment supplied on request), equipment code, paintwork code, seat upholstery code. The engine number is stamped on the left wall of the cylinder block.
Using the car code containing 17 positions, you can accurately identify your car and get data on the engine model, base, whether the car has a sports version or a flat roof, whether the car has a station wagon, three- or five-door version, determine the year of manufacture and manufacturer. Positions of the number from 12 to 17 indicate the actual number of the car.
Please note that some of the engines installed in the Frontera are also used in other Opel vehicles (For example, Omega, Vectra). However, the engine number indicates the engine of the Frontera.
