Fusible Links — Description and Replacement (Opel Frontera A)

Protection of some circuits is achieved by including fuse links in their electrical circuit. Inserts are typically used to protect circuits not equipped with fuses, such as the ignition circuit.

The fuse links on these models are similar to fuses in that their failure (melting) easily determined visually.

1. To replace the fuse link, first disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the burnt insert and install a new one in its place (can be purchased at a dealership or auto accessories store).

Before replacing the insert, be sure to try to determine the cause of the overload that caused its failure.
