On all models, the engine and transmission are transversely mounted. Initially, models with engine capacity of 1.3, 1.6 or 1.8 liters were produced. In 1987, a 2.0 liter engine began to be installed on some models. The manual transmission can be 4- or 5-speed, the automatic - 3-speed.
The two-door Opel Ascona Convertible (cabriolet) began to be produced in October 1985.
Depending on the model, various options for finishing the car and its equipment are possible.
The models under consideration should not present any particular problem for home repair. They have a simple design and good access to all service points.
