2.0L SOHC Engine



Removal



1. Release the pressure from the fuel system and disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the drive belt and drain the coolant.

3. Remove the air intake pipe.

4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever.

5. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the generator mounting bracket from the manifold.

6. Disconnect the fuel hoses from the fuel rail and disconnect the connection connectors.

7. Disconnect the ground wires.

8. Remove the wire cover from the intake manifold.

9. Disconnect the air, vacuum and water hoses.

10. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the intake manifold.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

2.0L DOHC Engine



Removal



1. Remove the drive belt and drain the coolant.

2. Remove the throttle body.

3. Disconnect and remove the fuel lines from the fuel rail.

4. Disconnect the ground wire. Remove the wire cover together with the injector connection connectors.

5. Disconnect the vacuum and air hoses from the intake manifold.

6. Remove the alternator mounting brackets from the manifold. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the mounting bracket from the bottom of the intake manifold.

7. Remove the mounting nuts and bolts and remove the intake manifold.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

2.5 and 3.0 liter engines



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the air hose from the idle speed control valve.



3. Remove the air intake pipes.

4. Remove the retaining clip and disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever.

5. On models with cruise control, remove the retaining clip.

9. Unscrew the connection nut and disconnect the tube from the recirculation valve.

12. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the vacuum and air hoses from the intake manifold.

13. Unscrew the mounting bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the hose and wire mounting brackets from the intake manifold.

14. Remove the caps, unscrew the mounting bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the upper section of the intake manifold.

20. If necessary, loosen the mounting bolts and remove the flange from the top of the cylinder head.

Installation



Installation


Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. When installing, replace all seals and O-rings.
